The school year is a marathon
June the finish line
and somewhere between then and now or perhaps previously this Spring
lies that proverbial wall that all runners must face.

This week ELA: finishing poetry books; continue mini unit on affixes and roots.
5th grade explored maps, directions, scale measurements, and how to utilize a grid to locate places on a map. Geography work is is some of Ryan's favorite Social Studies lessons.

This week Math: Multiplying fractions.
The students completed a science experiment wherein they assembled a mold terrarium and elected one variable to change. They were testing whether that variable would promote or hinder mold growth. Huzzah for the unsung heroes that keep our world from succumbing to the detritus about us -- fungus and other decomposers!
