Prajakta Bedekar worked on the equations describing the biological mechanisms of early stage of human cell differentiation. Prajakta collaborated with bio-engineering lab of Dr Aryeh Warmflash at Rice University She defended PhD in 2020 and co-authored a paper Reaction-Diffusion Models for Morphological Patterning of hESCs that appeared in the Journal of Mathematical Biology in 2021.
After graduation Prajakta moved to Johns Hopkins University for a post-doctoral fellow position.
Michael is a current graduate student at UH. Michael is leading a project that focuses on mathematical modeling of reversal-type motion of Myxococcus xantus bacteria. His work will provided better understanding of important biological questions of cells self-organized behavior. Michael is a part of the inter institutional collaboration effort between Dr Perepelitsa and Dr Timofeyev group at UH and Dr Igoshin engineering lab at Rice University.
