We had a great first day of kindergarten! We listened to some stories, worked on a couple projects, and started our Zoo Phonics curriculum! We also got to have library and gym.
We had another great day at school! We got through all of our morning routines so much easier, even after just one day of school. Our recess and lunch schedule was adjusted a bit to give kindergarten students a little more time to eat lunch. We don't have any special area classes on Tuesday afternoon, so we go out for an extra recess. We had the playground all to ourselves! We read the first story in our religion curriculum, Stories of God's Love, and did our first lesson in our Eureka math curriculum. I like that Eureka encourages students to draw pictures to solve problems, and to have conversations about their thinking and problem solving approach. It's fun to hear their thought process!
Day number 3 was a lot of fun! We got to use our scissors, glue, and even glitter. Twice! Before we start using a new school tool, we go over expectations for how we use it at school. We also got to meet our kindergarten music teacher, Mrs. Monson, who has a son in Mrs. Kohner's (Mrs. Rades') class.
