This two-day conference is designed to help state science leaders leverage free, high-quality instructional materials and related resources to advance science education. Attendees will experience contemporary science instruction, hear from experts in the field, share learning sessions with teams across multiple states, and collaborate within state teams to reflect and strategize on the use of high-quality Open Education Resources (OER) to improve science learning.

Devices: BCSSE is a paperless conference. Please ensure that you have a device and appropriate chargers. Presenters will need to provide their own devices, connection adapters, and clickers (if desired).

Arrival: All team members should plan to check into the hotel on the afternoon of June 29, 2022, in order to sign in and attend the welcome reception from 6-8 pm in the hotel. CSSS will book and pay for a hotel room checking in on June 29, and checking out on July 1. for all attendees whose RSVPs were received by the deadline. The planning committee will ask the hotel to make sure if a person attends CSSS that they stay in the same hotel room for BCSSE.
Departure: All team members depart July 1 after 1 pm local time. Conference hotel check in time is 3 p.m. and check out is 12 p.m.
Hotel: Upon completion of RSVP, hotel rooms are pre-booked and paid for in advance by the BCSSE Project. A credit card will be required upon check in to account for any incidentals and will be charged a temporary hold of $100 to be refunded upon check-out. Please see the hotel confirmation for additional information regarding your stay.
After the event, each team member will be eligible to seek reimbursement for additional expenses including:
Flight: round trip cost up to $600 will be reimbursed with a flight reservation receipt - no baggage fees, no first class. Flight costs over this amount should be pre-approved by Dave Metcalf (dmetcalf@cosss.org).
Meals: On Wednesday, June 29, the evening events will include a working dinner. Breakfast and lunch will be provided Thursday, June 30, and Friday, July 1. All other meals will be on your own.
Per Diem: A flat rate of $200 will be provided to cover additional expenses such as ground transportation, meals not provided during the conference, parking fees, and mileage and tolls. Receipts should be kept for all expenses.

Keynote Sessions - Keynote sessions will frame our breakout sessions and support community dialogue and individual planning.
Breakout Sessions- These interactive small group sessions are developed to support your learning.
State Team Time - State teams will work with trained facilitators in breakout groups to strategically plan for organizing people, groups, policies, and resources for more equitable science education using an Actor-Network analysis.
