OBJECTIVE: Students will review the use of significant digits, and math skills associated with unit conversions and dimensional analysis.
Today should have been review for students. As a result, Mr. K just touch on a couple of points in this Significant Digits, Conversions, and Dimensional Analysis Presentation. Look here if you need a deeper refresher.
To review these ideas, students completed this Estimating the Speed of Sound Virtually Activity. Students were asked to go watch a portion of the video, estimate a couple of measurements, and then return to class. Once back, students were to continue to work on this. At some point, Mr. K discussed his approach to this activity and, in so doing, reviewed with students the topics for the day.
When finished, students were asked to complete this Getting Warmed Up With Numbers Worksheet. Answers are provided on the worksheet. If you fail to get the right answer -- ASK FOR HELP!!
