Unit 3: Trigonometric Applications
Day 16: The Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines
4.1: 1-9 odd
4.2: 1-15 odd
Day 17: Start of the Solving Triangles Lecture (45)
4.1: 1-9 odd
4.2: 1-15 odd
Day 18: Finish the Solving Triangles Lecture
Try to understand why the LOS is dangerous while the LOC is totally safe
4.3: 29-38ish
Day 19: Workday, Trig Test 2 Recapture Day
Create and solve "Solving Triangles Worksheet N"
See what happens when N heads towards infinity
Create and solve an infinite number of problems where you find the exact area of an SSS triangle using Heron's Rule. Check your answer by solving the triangle and finding an approximate area
The Next 7 "Days" or so are vital. There are NO COVID videos for what's coming. Do not miss class.
Day 20: Start Vectors (Polar to Polar Only) (45)
Rework Class Examples
Try to create and solve some of your own
Day 21: Vectors (60)
Do an infinite number of these:
Create a vector addition problem
Draw a diagram of your problem
Solve the problem using Polar to Polar methods
Solve the problem using Polar to Cartesian to Polar methods
Check that your answer is:
The same with both methods
A reasonable match to your diagram
Give your problem to someone else and see if their answer is the same as yours
Redo all of the homework from Day 19
Day 22: Requests and Workday, The Ant Problem
Do an infinite number of problems like #1 or #2 from the 4 Area Problems. Check answers with a friend (if you both do an infinite number of problems, then you both did the same problems)
Redo all of the homework from Day 21
Visit a corn maze (preferably haunted). It will help for Trig Test 4
The Ant Problem Answer (in today's notes)
Day 23: Vector Applications Worktime (45)
Rework The Ant Problem
Do all of 4.8
Day 24: Vector Applications part 2 (45)
Attempt the problem concerning Seth's or Vibhav's power of flight (see today's notes)
Start and try to finish 4.10
See you in a week!
Day 25: Requests, Force
Do all of 4.9
Redo all of the homework from Day 22
Redo all of the 4.8, 4.9 and 4.10 problems
Redo the worksheet twice
Visit a corn maze (preferably haunted). It will help for Trig Test 4
Day 26: Requests, Class Notes
Host or Attend a Math Party
Redo the homework from Day 25
Day 27: First Identities (45)
Redo the homework from Day 26
