The 1st International Conference on Informal Work will bring together academic, social, and sector-based perspectives from different regions of the world to foster dialogue on the many realities of informal work.
Grounded in an interdisciplinary approach, the conference will create space for broad discussion on health, wellbeing at work, equity, and the transformation of work across rural, urban, and digital contexts.
The conference offers both in-person and virtual participation, including oral and poster presentations, as well as opportunities for academic, institutional, and strategic engagement across different components of the event.
Conference Themes
The conference brings together academia, productive sectors, communities, social organizations, government actors, and informal workers to engage in dialogue and build knowledge from diverse perspectives.
It is organized around three thematic tracks that make it possible to examine informal work across different contexts, bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives from health, ergonomics, human performance, public policy, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and education in order to deepen understanding and support transformation.
