My name is Diego, I am an astrophysicist at the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares (UNAM), in Mexico City.
My research focuses on studying high-energy phenomena such as GRBs (long and short) as well as CEs (and other explosive phenomena produced in the evolution of binary systems) via analytic models and numerical simulations (mainly high-performance HD, MHD, RHD, and RMHD simulations).
I am a researcher at the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares (UNAM).
I did my graduate studies at the Instituto de Astronomía (UNAM) and my postdocs at the Instituto de Astronomía and at the Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares (both UNAM), and also, at North Carolina State University.
I collaborate with anyone who is interested in high-energy phenomena, have published many articles, and have given numerous talks at conferences (international and national). Also, I have mentored many undergraduate and postgraduate students and am actively involved in teaching graduate courses.
I am very passionate about popularizing science, love to give public outreach talks, love my dog, looooove football (soccer of course), and tell the worst jokes which occasionally cause a laugh or two.
In this website you will find my academic formation, my academic interests, my publications and talks, the students I have mentored and the research groups I am involved with, the courses I have given, my CV, the public outreach activities I have givem, and a small part of my non-academic life (basically football and my dog).
