Teaching Assistant for "Health Disparities" (undergrad-level class in sociology and public policy), Spring 2025, Instructor: Prof. Adriana Reyes.
I am interested in teaching both methodological classes (e.g., demographic techniques, econometrics, research methods in social sciences) and substantive topic classes (e.g., population aging, family demography, health disparities, social policy).
I am also an advocate for inclusive teaching and mentoring. To name a few relevant activities that I have participated in:
I received "Essentials of Teaching" and "Course Design" teaching certificates from Cornell University in Fall 2024, which incorporated a series of training on how to cultivate an inclusive classroom, how to better support student learning, how to practice effective grading and empower students, and how to design an effective syllabus.
I was selected into the 2023-2024 cohort of the NextGen Professors program at Cornell University which aims to advance diversity, inclusion, access, and equity in the academy.
I served as a mentor to help undergrad students work on their research projects at the NextGenPop program in summer 2023 which aims to recruit the next generation of scholars in population research.
