Random stuffs I do (aka non-scientific work/project)
Thank you for your interest in checking out this secret page 🙂 Other than research, I enjoy playing musical instruments, swimming, cooking, and investigating how to optimize my cooking recipe (both time-wise and taste-wise).
Classical music and impromptu
I was once trained as a classical musician (with a major instrument of oboe and minor in piano) before my academic path in STEM. I picked up music as my hobby again during my graduate school, where I started making short films with impromptu music by myself to archive my memories. Here is an example of a film by me with an impromptu piano piece to memorize a trip to NYC with friends.
SWIM!
I was also once trained to be a swimmer. I was not good enough to be a professional, but I still keep swimming as my regular sport and enjoy open water swimming. I've participated in Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare to swim across Cayuga Lake (one of theFinger Lake next to Cornell) as part of a fundraising initiative for a non-profit Hospicare.
Cooking and Optimizing my Recipes
I enjoy cooking and finding ways to experiment on optimizing my recipes (e.g., how can I reduce the time making it without the cost of taste?). Coming soon. :)
