Random stuffs I do (aka non-scientific work/project)
Thank you for your interest in checking out this secret page 🙂 Other than research, I enjoy playing musical instruments and swimming.
Random things for printing
I am very proud of this figure though it wasn't included in my paper. Feel free to print it and hang it on the wall (as suggested by Yan-Ning's Ph.D. advisor) or contact Yan-Ning if you would like a version with a different aspect ratio. 😊

MUSIC!! 💛
I was once trained as a classical musician (with a major instrument of oboe and minor of piano) before my academic path in STEM. I picked up music as my hobby again during my graduate school, where I started making short films with impromptu music to archive my memories. My music is usually inspired by sounds with memories. Here is an example of a film by me with an impromptu piano piece to memorize a trip to NYC with friends. 2025-NOW I start jamming with other grads :) (see our recording for a holiday party here), and I go to the monthly Ithaca bluegrass jam (tho occasionally). 2017-2020 Oboist (Principal of Oboist 2018-2019; concert recording here) at National Taiwan University Wind Band (NTUWB)
SWIM!
I was also once trained to be a swimmer. I was not good enough to be a professional, but I enjoy swimming as my hobby and love open water swimming andscuba diving. I've participated in Women Swimmin’ for Hospicare in 2024, 2025 to swim across Cayuga Lake (one of theFinger Lake very close to Cornell) as part of a fundraising initiative for a non-profit Hospicare.
