As part of the Complexity and Linear Algebra program at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, we are running a weekly seminar on exciting new directions in numerical linear algebra. Join us for weekly talk(s) followed by an informal open problem session!
We meet most weeks of the program on Tuesdays from 10:30-12pm in room 116 of Calvin Lab. On days that we have two speakers, we will have a second session in the afternoon from 1-2pm, following lunch.
Our next meeting will be on September 23rd, when we will hear from Ryan Schneider on Revisiting MR^3 for the Bidiagonal SVD in the morning. In the afternoon, Mark Embree will tell us about Obstacles to a Satisfying Convergence Theory for Restarted Arnoldi with Exact Shifts.
