Frances Sobolak
PhD, Linguistics
I am a recent Linguistics Ph.D. grad from Cornell University. My theoretical interests include morphology, morphosyntax, and the syntax-semantics interface. Equally important to me is (i) a commitment to capacity-building and language revitalization efforts in Indigenous communities and (ii) postsecondary education pedagogy. This venn diagram of interests is explored more in the Research page.
I recently joined the Center for Instructional Excellence at Purdue University as an Instructional Developer and Affiliate Faculty with Linguistics. Here, I support instructors incorporate evidence-based, active learning strategies into their classrooms/courses. To get connected, schedule a consultation or email me at fsobolak [@] purdue [.] edu

Purdue University is built upon the traditional homelands of the Bodéwadmik (Potawatomi), Lenape (Delaware), Myaamia (Miami), and Shawnee People.
The Indigenous presence here, where I live and work, precede the establishment of Purdue University, Indiana State, and the United States of America.
