Bingyan Dai
Welcome!
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University, where I am very fortunate to be advised by Miguel I. Gómez (chair), Jinhua Zhao, and Ivan Rudik. My research focuses on agricultural and resource economics, with special interests in agricultural production, food markets, and supply chain management.
My work is stakeholder-focused and often takes an interdisciplinary approach, including agricultural producers, entomologists, plant scientists (among others) to provide valuable context and rigorous science behind economic analysis. My current research agenda includes: (1) pesticide use and externalities; (2) innovations in invasive species control; (3) food and agricultural resilience to climate and biological shocks.
Prior to doctorate study, I received my M.S. in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University in 2021 and bachelor's degrees from Sichuan University in 2019.
