Tuesday 7/21: ALL STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM - Work Session 8:30 AM-12:30 PM - CHS Music Wing. Wear comfortable clothing.

Wednesday 7/22: 5:30-8:30 PM - Pre-Camp FULL BAND (Competitive) REHEARSAL - CHS Band Room

We will start PROMPTLY at 5:30, so arrive a bit early. We will release students to put away equipment at 8:30 PM. Students should wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather (preferably an athletic-type short and t-shirt). Bring/wear sunscreen, sunglasses/hat are fine, bring water, instrument, music.

Thursday 7/23: 5:30-8:30 PM - Pre-Camp FULL BAND (Competitive) REHEARSAL - CHS Band Room

Friday 7/24: 5:30-8:30 PM - Pre-Camp FULL BAND (Competitive) REHEARSAL - CHS Band Room

- Uniform fittings will take place during band camp. Students will be fitted for shoes, summer shirts, and their marching band uniform. They will be sent home with an invoice for money due. Please let a band director know if you have financial need.
- Copley Music Boosters will provide lunches during Band Camp. If you have very strict dietary needs or food allergies, we recommend bringing your own lunch.
- PARENT PREVIEW - Friday, July 31 - 5:00-6:00 PM - CHS Band Practice Field. Bring a lawn chair and come see what we've been working on during Band Camp!

ATTENTION ALL WOODWIND & BRASS PLAYERS!

You are required to have a lyre/flip folder to aid in music memorization before Band Camp. Please order yours in plenty of time! Here is a document that shows you EXACTLY what you need, with links to order!

Percussionists and Drum Majors should purchase a 3-ring binder (about 1 inch wide) and sheet protectors for their music.

Band Camp Section Snacks - Donations Needed!

Buddy/Mentorship Program - Supply Donations Requested

Our 10th-12th grade mentors will be kicking off the buddy program with a week of secret clues, messages, and buddy gifts and will reveal their identity to their freshman buddy on the Friday of band camp. They could use your help with some supplies for band camp week! If you're willing to donate, please use THIS SIGNUP GENIUS, and send in the supplies anytime during pre-camp! Thank you!

Uniform Room Help Needed 7/27-7/31!

Help us get students ready for Marching Band season. We need many hands to help get students in the right uniform from head to foot. We need helpers to help them try on shoes and gloves and even hats. We also need helpers to help select the right size uniforms and runners to help grab different options and labellers to help label everything.

No know-how needed. We'll put you where you are most comfortable or we'll teach you! Feel free to drop by the uniform room (opposite the band room) this Friday at 8:00pm for a quick demonstration so you'll be able to help out Band Camp with less uneasiness.

Marching Band ABSENCES

Marching band is, by its very nature, a group effort, and it is VERY difficult for the group to make progress when students are absent, especially for long periods of time. We work hard to keep MOST of the summer free for most of our students, so that we can have ALL our students present when we return.

However, we know that absences are inevitable. If you know you will be absent for a rehearsal or performance, please HAVE A PARENT/GUARDIAN fill out THIS ABSENCE FORM as early as possible. FILLING OUT THE ABSENCE FORM DOES NOT MEAN THE ABSENCE WILL BE EXCUSED; IT MERELY HELPS STAFF PLAN FOR REHEARSALS. For information about excused vs. unexcused absences, please read the instructions on the absence form.

SPECIAL NOTE: IF YOU ARE INVOLVED IN A FALL, SCHOOL-AFFILIATED SPORT, AND THERE IS A DIRECT CONFLICT BETWEEN A BAND ACTIVITY AND YOUR SPORT, PLEASE EMAIL MR. FOSTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. HE WILL WORK WITH YOUR COACH TO ARRANGE A SUITABLE COMPROMISE.

Can YOU help serve lunches during Band Camp?

We need several volunteers to serve lunches during band camp. The Music Boosters purchase all the food; we just need helpers to prep and serve! If you have time between 10:30 and 12:30 any of the days of camp, please sign up using THIS SIGNUP GENIUS. Thank you!

FALL Concessions Volunteers

The Music Boosters need YOUR help working in the concession stand at football, soccer, and volleyball games this Fall! Grab a friend and come meet other band parents while you help the Music Boosters raise funds for our music program. Use THIS SIGNUP GENIUS to sign up!

Honors (Competitive) Marching Band Schedule

Pre-Camp Rehearsals: July 22-24, 5:30-8:30 PM

Band Camp (at the high school): July 27-31, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Parent Preview 7/31, 5:00-6:00)

Post-Camp Rehearsals: August 4-7, August 10-13, 5:30-8:30 PM

Monday, August 17, 3:00-5:00 PM

August 19 - PICTURE DAY - during mods 14-15 through 3:30.

Beginning on August 19 and continuing through November 9 (or Nov 2, depending on which week of OMEA State Marching Band Finals we attend), we will follow the following weekly schedule:

Monday - Regular rehearsals during the band period; no extended day rehearsal.

Tuesday - Regular rehearsal during the band period EXTENDED until 3:00.

Wednesday - Regular rehearsal during the band period EXTENDED until 3:00.

Thursday - Regular rehearsal during the band period EXTENDED until 4:00.

Friday - Regular rehearsals during the band period; no extended day rehearsal.
