Central Ozark Private Industry Council [COPIC] is a 501 (c) (3) Non-profit, tax exempt organization, legally organized and operated in accordance with the Missouri law. COPIC was incorporated in 1984 and maintains "Good Standing" status in the State of Missouri. Patricia Rogers has served as the COPIC Executive Director for the previous 22 years and was a Program Manager prior to becoming director.
History of COPIC:
From 1984 until 1999 COPIC served as the administrative entity and service provider for the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). Patricia Rogers was hired by COPIC in 1993 and worked as JTPA Program Manager until June 30, 2000. July 1, 2000 JTPA was replaced by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 (a federal program). The administrative branch of COPIC was removed from the company to become the administrative entity for Central Region Workforce Investment Board (CWDB). The direct service branch remained under the name COPIC and Patricia Rogers was promoted to Executive Director. A new Board of Directors was established as oversight of the COPIC "subcontractor". July 2014 the federal WIA transitioned to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which COPIC continues to operate under with funding received from the Central Region Workforce Development Board.
