WHERE, WHEN and WHAT
The show will be staged at the Academy Theatre which is located at Co-op Academy Manchester M9 0WQ.
Some rehearsals will take place at the Academy Theatre, but some will take place at the various other academies in the Greater Manchester region.
The dates of the show itself are Wednesday 7th July to Saturday 10th July 2027. There will be an evening performance on each day. There will be an afternoon AND evening performance on Saturday 10th July. Cast and crew will need to be available for ALL of these dates (and the critical rehearsals in the run up to the show) in order to be part of the production.
We will publish a rehearsal schedule in January and this will tell cast members which rehearsals they are required to attend. When we start rehearsing, we meet on Tuesday evenings each week. Once we get going, we add Sunday afternoon rehearsals. As we get very close to the opening night, there are extra rehearsals - including technical and dress rehearsals. Not all cast members are required to attend every rehearsal.
Broadly, the project falls into three stages :
Auditions take place between October and December 2026
Rehearsals take place between January and July 2027
The show takes place in July
We are looking for students to be in the cast. The audition process will focus on finding the right students to play the main parts and the ensemble. Click here to register your interest
Hadestown has eight named parts, but is also written with lot of great singing and movement work for a telented ensemble (who are on stage for much of the show). We are looking for a cast of around 35 in total - so, if you are keen, we want to meet you at one of the auditions.
