Year 7 Wind Band

Year 7 students at Coombe Girls' School have an exciting opportunity to join a unique music programme. Run partly during school and partly during extra-curricular time, the Year 7 Wind Band will provide approximately 23 students with the chance to learn to play an instrument that they have not learnt before and immediately become a member of a band that will perform in at least two school events.

The instruments available to students are:

5 Flutes

6 Clarinets

3 Oboes

6 Alto Saxophones

3 Tenor Saxophones

4 Bassoons

3 Trumpets

3 French Horns

3 Trombones

3 Euphoniums

The best news is that the programme is subsidised by the Music Department, who kindly loan the instruments out for free, and the only cost to parents here will be an Instrument Servicing Fee of £30.00 per year to maintain the quality of the instruments for next year’s intake of Year 7 students. There is also the fee for the lessons themselves, which will be £9 per group lesson for 10 weeks per term, equating to just £270.00 for three terms of lessons.
