Welcome to Pierce School's 4th Grade website. My name is Val Germain and this is my seventh year at Pierce Elementary School. I began my teaching career at the Henniker Community School where I taught for 12 years.

My husband and I have lived in Bennington for 30+ years and raised our three children here - all whom attended Pierce School. I enjoy spending time with family, our dog Buddy, and being in the woods hiking.

Teaching at Pierce School has been a uniquely rewarding experience. The dynamic of this small school exemplifies the feeling of community. I am privileged to be part of an outstanding staff who are committed to all students. We all work toward a common goal to make each child feel valued, cared for and be able to succeed academically.

My educational philosophy is to make each child feel valued for the unique person they are, and help students grow to their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
