My name is Bethany Cooper, and I'm an English teacher at ConVal High School, beginning my fifth year. I graduated from Keene State College in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in both English Literature and Secondary Education, and I minored in Psychology.  In 2022, I earned my Master of Education for Curriculum & Instruction from Southern New Hampshire University. I am currently enrolled in additional graduate-level Literature courses through Greenville University with Advancement Courses.

My teaching practice incorporates every attempt to follow  the Understanding by Design and Universal Design for Learning frameworks. I have found that employing backwards design to help students understand the learning targets and meet benchmarks along the way while offering as much student choice as possible has helped many students achieve greater success.

This year, I am the co-advisor of both the Student Council and the Class of 2025 with my fellow English department colleague, Alexis Harris. We are looking forward to hosting fun community activities for the whole school and planning next year's Prom and senior trip with the junior class.

I live in Deering, NH with my husband, Matt, and three children: Kaleb (17), Jaime (14), and Hadley (12).  As a family, we really enjoy traveling with our camper. In  2022,  we spent most of July making our way out to Glacier National Park in Montana. On the way, we made stops in Sandusky, Ohio,  Minneapolis MN, and Helena, MT, visiting Great Wolf Lodge,  the Mall of America, and the Mississippi River. On the way home , we stopped in South Dakota's Black Hills, and western PA, visiting Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, Deadwood, SD, Custer, SD, and a funky little place called Wall Drug (image to the left).
