I moved to Bennington about 21 years ago from sunny California and haven't looked back! I am happy to say this is my 11th year teaching at GBS, although 20 years ago I started in the ConVal district as a substitute, then paraprofessional, core teacher, and now a specialist!
You will find me teaching 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade art classes. In typical years I lead an afterschool Art Club (this year Mrs. Regis will run Art Club), and this year I am a 7th grade Advisor.
I have a Masters of Education degree as well as being certified in Art Education, Regular Education, and Special Education, and a degree in English.
In my spare time I love to travel with my husband and three boys, and spend time outdoors swimming, skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, and picking berries. Nature is my muse and inspires my own art through drawings, paintings, linoleum block prints, and sketches. I also enjoy writing poetry.
There's actually legit research behind why I wear this nose. Ask me sometime!
GBS teachers like to have fun!
I did this beauty while attending Hog Island Audubon camp for Educators in Maine!
Creating art often means stepping out of your comfort zone and trying a new thing!
