ROCK-A-THON
March 6-7, 2020
March 6-7, 2020
It’s Rockin’ Time! The ConVal Music Department invites your students to participate in our annual overnight Rock (Play and Sing)-a-Thon fundraiser.
Rock-a-Thon Expectations
- Student check-in is from 7:00 to 7:45 pm.
- The overnight ends at 8 am the following morning.
- Students are required to attend the full event and participate in clean up in the morning.
- Students can only arrive late (or request exceptions) with permission from Mr. Wickham or Mr. Moore.
- Students must fundraise a minimum of $5.00 in order to attend.
- Students must agree to adhere to all school rules at this event.
- Only music department students are able to participate in this event - no guests allowed.
Student Fundraising
- 100% of the money students raise will go directly to their fundraising account.
- Students will raise money by staying awake for as many hours in a row as they can.
- A student's day typically begins around 6 am, staying awake until 8 am.
- Pledges begin at 13 hours and continue up to 26 hours.
- Students can ask for pledges from friends, family, and community members who want to challenge them to stay awake.
- Pledges are made for every hour the student is able to stay awake or a flat donation can be pledged that challenges the student to stay awake the entire night. For example, if a patron pledges $0.50 an hour and the student stays up for the full 26 hours, they will collect $13.00 from the patron.
- Unless a patron is making a general donation towards the student, they should not collect money until they’ve completed the Rock-a-Thon night.
Rock-a-Thon Activities
- Parents and guardians of participating students are encouraged to come to the pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 7 at 6:00 am.
- Some student activities include movies, sing-a-longs, skits, crafts, board games, trivia, karaoke, capture the flag and more.
Parent Volunteer, Food and Chaperone Help!
- We need parents to volunteer as chaperones. Chaperones may volunteer for the entire night or for specific time slots.
- We need food donations for the student's midnight snack and breakfast.
- We will share a Perfect Potluck sign-up in order to coordinate chaperones and food donations for the midnight snack and breakfast.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to e-mail Mr. Wickham at jwickham@conval.edu or Mr. Moore at bmoore@conval.edu.
