The reason you are in school is to learn. If you haven't demonstrated learning the first time, I believe you deserve a chance to learn again. That is the purpose of the re-do policy. I do not believe that grades should be punishments (or just rewards, for that matter). I also don't want you re-doing everything simply for points to improve your average. I want you to keep high standards for yourself and strive for mastery of the material.
You may re-take tests and quizzes. You may revise writing assignments and projects in an effort to improve. I reserve the right not to let you re-do work if I decide that you are falling behind or if I determine that you will have other opportunities to demonstrate learning or mastery. However, we can make this decision together, so don't hesitate to talk to me if you feel you are struggling.
When you want to re-do an assignment, you must complete the re-do form and meet with me. I will give you specific instructions, depending on the assessment that you want to re-do.
The re-do form is available here.
