Located in the Conroe Independent School District, York Junior High serves over 2,000 students in grades 7-8.
The band program has a long history of excellence, consistently earning UIL Sweepstakes ratings with their Varsity, non-Varsity, and sub-non-Varsity bands.
The York Wind Ensemble has been a TMEA State Honor Band Finalist in 2011 and a Semi-Finalist in 2023, as well as earning national honors in the Mark of Excellence competition.

Mrs. Lopez is starting her 2nd year at York JH and her eighth teaching band. Her primary conducting responsibilities include the Symphonic and Concert III Bands, and she assists with the other ensembles. Mrs. Lopez is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.

Ms. Pritchard is starting her 22nd year at York JH. She oversees the entire band program, comprised of six performing ensembles and almost four hundred seventh and eighth grade students. Her primary conducting responsibilities are the 8th grade Wind Ensemble and 7th grade Concert I Bands, as well as assisting with the other concert bands. Ms. Pritchard is a graduate of the University of Houston, and her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Educators Association. She is the TMEA Region IX Junior High Band Division Chairwoman and serves on the University Interscholastic League Prescribed Music List Committee. She is also a member of the Alpha Chapter of the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.

Mr. Bowman is starting his 4th year at York JH. His primary conducting responsibilities include the Concert II and Concert IV Bands, and he assists with the other ensembles. Mr. Bowman is a graduate of the University of Houston and is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.
