School attendance is important to your child's overall academic success! Please send your child to school every day unless they are sick. We also encourage any doctor/dentist visit to be scheduled after school when possible. Thank you for your support!

Reading

We have been studying Personal Narratives. We have learned about the character traits and life events of our narrators. We loved reading about a migrant worker and a person who dealt with polio. We are eager to begin our Unit 2 hands-on lessons. 

Writing

We are reviewing and learning more grammar skills. These include common, proper, singular, and plural nouns. We have been using the correct punctuation at the end of our sentences. We are moving on to verbs and adjectives. 

Math

We studied place value up to 100,000. We have been working on adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers using different strategies to find an answer. 

Science

We have reviewed lab safety. We moved on to properties of matter which include heating and cooling. 

Social Studies

We learned about different types of primary and secondary sources. Now we are studying maps and learning how to interpret each type.
