Music: Kalimankou Denkou (The Evening Gathering)

Note: Galithea-- is a frequency, a friction, a pang of effort and longing. The solo takes place somewhere at the edge of the world and explores a physicality born out of constraint, resistance, and release. It might be a struggle, an apology, or a prayer. The solo was originally conceived of in a residency with dancer, Georgia Usborne, at the Arts on Site Residency and Retreat Center in New Paltz, New York during the Covid-19 pandemic and is an excerpt of a larger work.

let me tell you a story...

Choreographed by: Ayana Sequira

Performed by: Alyssa Bodmer, Maddie Duval, Lindsey Perlman, Ayana Sequira, Kaylin Thistle (remote), Ryley Young

Music: Black Sands by Bonobo

Note: Nothing feels real. Your feet in the grass, your eyes up towards the clouds. You’ve just finished that one show, movie, book, and all your senses are muted by the story. You don’t want to come back to reality, the calm and bliss sinks under your skin. You move and sway, the wind through your hair, under your arms, around your waist, past your legs, compels you to dance. You feel free, you feel powerful, you feel happy. While you watch the dance, I hope that you fill yourself up with these words and feelings, letting the movement craft a story all your own.
