Can you find a way out?
Our project is a VR Escape Room experience. We plan to have two groups of participants and to collect data on both. One group will have a timer in the room and one group will not. We want to see if the participants with the timer will complete the escape room faster.
Hi! I’m Nik and I love playing as well as making games and digital experiences. This was our first VR project ever and it was really nice to hear positive feedback for our first creation. Although it's a simple experience, it was really complex to make.
Hello! I'm Manan and I'm an international sophomore student from Wales. I'm studying computer science with a primary interest in robotics. This was my first time working with any kind of VR application and I thought it was so cool seeing people interact with our project to the point where I'd love to do something like this again.
Hey! My name is Zack Beucler and I am a senior Computer Science student at Connecticut College. I like all types of software development and this was the first time I developed a VR application. I really enjoyed seeing people use our VR experience and I hope to make more VR apps in the future!
Above is a bar and whiskers plot that shows the distribution of completion time for participants with and without a timer. The plot allows us to see that participants with no timer on average completed the escape room slightly quicker. This is contrary to our belief that if the participants had a timer, they would feel more rushed to complete the escape room. We've included a slideshow below that includes more information about the data we collected.
