The Livescribe smartpen is available through SAS with an accommodation. The smartpen is great for students use a pen and paper for taking notes.

Glean is a cloud-based notetaking platform available  through SAS for students with an accommodation. Great for students who use a computer for notetaking.

The book scanner is on the first floor of Shain Library. To make your reading material accessible, create an OCR PDF or MP3 file. Ask a Librarian for assistance.

Multifunction devices (MFD)also provide an accessible (OCR) pdfs. MFD resource guides are in Camel Web (Home/Documents and Forms/Printing and Mailing Services/MFD How To).

This Moodle add-on provides faculty guidance on creating accessible content and allows students to convert the readings into an accessible format that works best for them.

1. Digitization-Shain Library provides hardware, software, and support for digitizing a wide range of physical materials and making them accessible. Resources and services listed on this page are available to all faculty, staff, and students.

2. Interloan- The Shain Library has developed partnerships with an extensive array of academic, public, and special libraries to achieve the service goal of timely access to materials not within our collection. Please don’t hesitate to ask for anything you require. 

3. Pull from the shelf- To request that a book be pulled from the shelf, students can go to the library website and sign into their account. Once they're signed in, when they identify a physical book the library has available, they click on it. 

4. Audiobooks-Search for audiobooks in One Search, select Overdrive Ebooks & Audio Books, search audiobooks, select a book, and checkout.

5. Ipads- Check out  at the circulation desk

6. Earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones-Available at the circulation desk

7. Altoedge USB Foot Pedal -Transcription and dictation footpedal. Check out at the circulation desk.

Students who use hearing aids can check the Roger Pen out from Student Accessibility Services, The pen transmits speaker's voice directly to their ears.

Text to speech scanner.  Students with accommodations can check the pen out through SAS.
