Advertising and invitation materials should include an access statement with organizer’s contact information

Invite participants to assert their accommodation needs prior to the event
Include Alternative Formatting for Materials
Online and paper
Braille and large print versions
Provide descriptive warnings for sensitive content prior to it being shared
If the event will have a quiet space, include the quiet space logo on promotional materials
Colors
Use high contrast color, If you are unsure, use this contrast checker
Avoid common color-blindness color combinations, such as green and red or blue and purple
Background
Keep text background simple
Avoid using images or neon colors in the background
Use lots of blank space
Text
Ensure letters are large and thick
Accessible fonts include: Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman, Helvetica, Canva Sans, or Verdana fonts
Avoid large blocks of text
Avoid overusing caps, bold, italic, and underlines; these can be confusing for screen-readers
All online materials should be screen-reader friendly
Non-decorative images should have alternative text
Videos should have accurate captions
Avoid flashing or blinking images
Hyperlinks need informative titles, not “here”
