Walking into the girls bathrooms in our school you see trash on the floor, toilets unflushed, unlocked stall doors, sinks with only cold water and weak water pressure. In my opinion, we should have better bathrooms. We could have better bathrooms if we took care of a few things. The bathrooms need to be cleaner, the stalls need to work and the toilet and sinks need to work properly.
Let’s start with how the bathrooms could be cleaner. I know the janitors try hard to keep our school clean but they need our help. It's the students who throw trash on the floor. You all know how disgusting it is. People are leaving wrappers of products, toilet paper and hand towels everywhere in the bathroom. When they get paper for their hands they can’t even make it to the trash can! It’s around the trash can on the floor! Also, in the stalls, some people don’t even put their trash in the little can. It's all over the floor and stall floor! The bathrooms can be cleaner if WE start cleaning up after ourselves. Stop throwing trash on the floor or in the stalls! You all should know to clean up after yourself!
Next, let's talk about how the sinks could be better. Some sinks don’t even work right. They are busted or something. One example, only one sink really works in the 5th grade bathroom. On many sinks both of the handles for hot and cold water don’t work right. Only one works and the pressure is very weak so only a tiny bit of water comes out. In the 3rd grade bathroom, the new sink installed didn’t last more than a week. Also, in the fifth grade bathroom, the sinks are so little both of my hands kinda don’t fit.
Now, let’s talk about the toilets. The toilets don’t all work right either. One thing is some are broken and can’t flush down right away. Because they don’t flush right away, they are also clogged with paper and other stuff. It is very disgusting when you see it. Then, when you flush the toilet sometimes with that metal thing, water gushes out.
The next problem is in more than one bathroom. The stalls don’t all latch or close which leaves us feeling like we can’t have any privacy. In the fifth grade bathroom they just put a hanger on the door and a lock but that's it.
The last thing we are going to talk about, is how some of the bathrooms smell. The smell from the 7th grade bathroom alone is enough to make people want to throw up. I can’t describe the smell but just know it’s a disgusting smell. It’s like you walk in the bathroom and the power of the smell just hits your nose and with one sniff, “Boom!” When that smell hits, it makes you just wanna throw up. Maybe we could get some good smelling spray to cover up that smell?
In conclusion, to have better bathrooms you all need to start cleaning up after yourself, we need better running sinks, better working toilets, and a better smell in those bathrooms. The bathrooms also need better and cleaner bathroom stalls.

When I come to school I see students wearing the same drab, boring, lifeless, and colorless uniforms. We only have a few select options in uniform and they are just polo shirts in different colors and the same color pants that are really uncomfortable and boring. Did you know that according to Parentmap uniforms prevent creativity and prevent people from discovering their true identity? Yeah, me either! I think uniforms are uncomfortable, unnecessary, and unneeded. We should not have to wear uniforms because people might have financial problems, families may have laundry issues and students can stay out of trouble for having uniform violations.
People could have problems getting uniforms, especially people who don't have money, and people who don't wear them get in trouble.
To start with, people may not have the money to purchase school uniforms. Some people have very limited funds and can't afford uniforms. The money they have is trying to help their family with food or rent. Lots of people have financial problems and again can't afford uniforms for their kids. They could be losing their house and would still have to be paying for uniforms.
Next, laundry issues make it hard to keep school uniforms clean. A few people don't have washers and dryers and have to go to a laundromat and possibly won't have any clean uniform for school. Especially if they only have one or two complete outfits. If people don't have clean uniforms they could wear something else. When we wear something else, we get scolded by sent to the front office for some new pants, shirts, or both. That can be humiliating! If people do have a washer and dryer they would put it in and and wait for it to wash and dry. If you are forgetful like me, you might leave your uniform in the washer or dryer overnight and by the time you realize it would be too late to wear it to school.
My final reason why we should not have to wear uniforms is so that students can stay out of trouble for wearing the incorrect uniform. Almost everyday I see at least 3 people get in trouble because they don't wear their uniform or don’t wear it correctly. We are kids and should not have to worry about whether we are following the clothes rules. This problem can be solved by just not requiring uniforms.
To sum up, I think that we should not have to wear uniforms to save money, to help with laundry issues and to keep students out of trouble for a clothing violation. We don't need to wear uniforms, we can wear our regular clothes.
