New whistleblower protection regulations are being introduced throughout Europe and with them the new function of Independent Whistleblower Officer (IWO).

EU based organisations with more than 49 employees are or will be required to appoint an IWO who

• Guards the compliance with the whistleblowing regulations

• Organises the respect of the whistleblower rights (ID protection, retaliation protection,...)

• Organises the internal reporting channels – receives, handles en ensures the follow up of internal reports

• Is independent, diligent and competent in accordance with the case governance principles

• Is capable of upholding the 6 principles of suitability
