Keynote Address
Author and historian Dr. Bryce Evans, Associate Professor at Liverpool Hope University, specializes in the economic and political history of food. He has also worked in the field of modern British and Irish history. He has authored six books and has graced various media publications including The Washington Post, The Guardian, BBC News magazine, The Big Issue, and The Irish Times. His latest book is titled Food and Aviation in the 21st Century (2021, Bloomsbury). He has been the recipient of Economic History Society Carnevali Grant (2020), Reed-Fink Award (2019), Arts and Humanities Research Council Gateways to the First World War fund – £15,000 around WW1 ‘national kitchens’ (2016) amongst various other grants, fellowships, and awards. Workshop on Research Methods in Food Studies
Dr. Jennifer Meta Robinson is a Professor of Practice in the Indiana University Anthropology Department where she studies sustainable food systems and college pedagogy. She has authored two books on Sustainable Food Systems. Selling Local: Why Local Food Movements Matter (2017) and The Farmers’ Market Book: Growing Food, Cultivating Community (2007) that explore the relationships and trade-offs in alternative agriculture. She teaches courses on food and culture. She has also contributed extensively to the field of pedagogy through her publications and scholarly engagements. She has been the recipient of prestigious fellowships, awards, and grants from the Association of American Universities, Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Teagle Foundation, Indiana Arts Commission, and Indiana University. She is affiliated with the Ostrom Workshop, Integrated Program on the Environment, Food Institute, and Campus Farm at IU.

Public Lecture
Dr. Tulasi Srinivas is trained as a sociologist and anthropologist of religion with expertise in South Asia. She is a decorated author and editor of 6 books including the award-winning Curried Cultures: Food, Globalization and South Asia. She has held several prestigious fellowships and received research support from Harvard University, Georgetown University, the Rockefeller Foundation amongst various other institutions of eminence. She is an advisor to the Bangalore city study group to the non-profit Jaaga in Bangalore that deals with conflict over land in the city. She is part of the team of experts to the World Economic Forum, Davos, on the Global Agenda Council on The Crisis of Global Inequality. Her lecture for the conference will be titled Cloud Kitchens and “Swiggy” Orders: Eating and Internet Delivery in Bangalore’s Pandemic.
