Tempera paintings with crayon resists exploring line types (dotted, dashed, curvy, thick, thin, parallel).

"Painting" with watercoloring markers and learning about warm and cool colors.

Students learn about Jasper Johns and used oil pastels and watercolors to create their alphabet.

Students learn about  rainbow order, ROYGBIV (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet) and paint in the style of artist Alma Thomas.

After reading "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll, students use primary colors of paint to mix secondary colors. Then, they create a collage of mice and cheese using their painted paper.
