More Joy, Less Oy!
Sunday, May 17, 2026, 3–5pm, Concord Carlisle High School Cafeteria
More Joy, Less Oy is back! Join us for an afternoon of connection, laughter, and storytelling. We will feature Moth-style true stories told live by members of the community that provide unique fragments of our daily experiences — heartfelt, funny, and full of life.
The theme of the event is traditions — the ones we inherit, the ones we create, and the ones that change over time. Come for the stories, and meet new people while you’re at it, as we celebrate the warmth, humor, and resilience woven through everyday life and friendship.
Free. All are welcome.
Tuesday, April 28th, 2026, 7:30pm at Kerem Shalom

On October 7 in Kibbutz Nir Oz, Barak and his family fought for their lives as terrorists attacked their home, ultimately escaping through a window as it burned. In this candid and deeply personal talk, Barak shares his story — offering a window into the devastating losses in his community, where more than a quarter of residents were killed that day.
More than a testimony, this is a story of what comes after: the choice to rebuild, the strength of community, and the moments of humanity that make healing possible.
Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, 6pm to 7:45pm at Concord Free Public Library
Hear stories from community members from diverse backgrounds, including a CCAA Steering Committee member. Standing Together Against Bias and Hate
Tuesday, January 27th, 2026, 6pm to 8pm at Concord-Carlisle High School
Coordinated by the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the Concord and Concord-Carlisle Public Schools
Join neighbors from Concord and Carlisle for an interactive evening of learning, reflection, and conversation about how our community is responding to bias and hate — and how we can show up for one another.
The program will include brief spotlights from local organizations working toward a more inclusive community, followed by An Introduction to Confronting Contemporary Antisemitism, an interactive session led by Facing History & Ourselves that offers insight into the professional learning Concord and Concord-Carlisle educators have been engaged in this year. The evening will conclude with a community Q&A and time for shared reflection.
