Q: What is Esports?
Esports, at its base, is the competitive play of video games.
Like traditional sports, Esports requires (and teaches) cooperation, communication and critical thinking to be successful in competition.
All competition is played against other Indiana High School Esports programs.
Q: Who can be a part of Esports?
Any high school student can tryout and play with the Minuteman Esports Program! We host tryouts at the beginning of each season!
Through IHSEN, we play all year long and we support multiple video game titles to tryout for!
Q: How does Esports operate?
We play in an organization called Indiana High School Esports Network (IHSEN) or IEN (Indiana Esports Network)!
IHSEN declares what games are supported and what days those games are played on!
From those supported games, we host tryouts to better create teams ready for competition.
IHSEN also creates and provides the matchups/schedules for all competing Esports teams!
This organization only allows high schools within Indiana to join and compete!
We play on hardware found in the MOVEUP Academy and most games are played virtually!
Q: Are there any requirements for Esports?
Here at Concord, we will always put academics first! We follow the same requirements as the Athletic department!
All students must be passing 5/7 of their classes to compete at a varsity level in Esports!
Any student receiving three or more failing grades will be temporarily withheld from varsity competition until the next appropriate grade check.
