History

Science Olympiad at STEM was started by a 5th grade teacher in 2015 -2016 school year. That first year, students competed at the regional competition and placed 4th. Here's a list of our standings since inception: 

2016 - 2017 - 4th place

2017 - 2018 - 3rd place

2018-2019 - 2nd place and a bid to compete at the state level competition! 43rd overall of 60 competing teams. 

2019 - 2020 - N/A - season not completed due to COVID-19

2020-2021 - N/A - season not completed due to COVID-19

2021-2022 - 3rd place at regionals  

2022-2023 - 2nd place and a bid to compete at the state level competition! 37th of 60 teams. 

2023-2024 - 2nd place and a bid to compete at the state level competition and Region 10 Class C Champion! (first season after Region 10 and 13 merged with 19 total scoring teams. To note, in the 21-22 season, there were only 4 scoring teams.) 28th overall of 48 teams. Michigan Science Olympiad States Class C Champion! 

2024-2025 - 4th place overall and a bid to compete at the state level competition. 21 scoring teams and 10 non-scoring teams. 34th overall of 54 total scoring teams. Top 20 in 4 events!

2025-2026 - 2nd place overall and a bid to compete at the state level competition. At states, there were 65 scoring teams and 15 exhibition/gold bid teams. STEM placed 25th of 80. We also placed top 10 in 3 3vents, top 20 in 1 event. Not only did we  secure our team's first ever medal earners at States but we were the only team from Region 10 to medal. Lastly, Comstock STEM was the Region 10 Class C champions and we are also the Michigan Science Olympiad States Class C champions.
