Are you in 4th, 5th, or 6th grade? Do you like to read or compete or be on a team? Consider joining Battle of the Books this year. The sign up form will come home soon. Please send the form back to school as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can email Mrs. Sandelin if you are interested in participating in Battle of the Books this year.
On behalf of all staff at the STEM Academy, we are thrilled that you are a part of our school community. Reach out to the main office at 269-250-8560, or email meagan.thornburg@comstockps.org if you have any questions, to report an absence, or to change the pick-up routine. Please submit any pick-up changes before 1:30 PM. This gives our team enough time to notify your child's teacher and ensure your child gets home safely on the bus or via pick-up.
Thank you for your patience as we establish new routines. We will continue to improve our efficiency while keeping student safety as a top priority.
As you approach the front of the building for parent pickup, we ask you to use both lanes all the way to the visitor parking lot, and then alternate letting each other in, zipper merge, to one line for student pickup at the cones. Please be patient with each other, our staff, and our neighbors. We will continue to reflect on how to improve this process and help it go smoothly and efficiently.
To help with pickup for our youngest students, if you need more time, you may park in our west parking lot and walk up to Mrs. Raines, our Music teacher. She will have a cone that she will direct your child to, and then you may take them to your car in the west lot after the buses dismiss. We hope this will help with kids who need more time to buckle in, and also will allow the long car line to flow and go with older kids. This will also reduce the number of cars in the east pick-up line and reduce the chance of the line going out onto E. Main Street.
Thank you to a kindergarten family for suggesting this improvement. Please be patient as we try out this new enhancement to our pick-up routine.
Dear Families,
This week, our school will focus on the character strength of Integrity. Integrity means being honest, truthful, and genuine.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. People with integrity tell the truth and align their thoughts, feelings, and actions. They have the courage to stick to their beliefs, even if it means not following the crowd. Integrity is closely related to honesty and authenticity.
Integrity is essential for personal growth and well-being. When your thoughts, feelings, and actions are in harmony, you can grow and achieve your goals. Being authentic and genuine makes you more likable and trusted by others, improving your relationships.
To practice and encourage the character strength of integrity at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
Thank you for your support!

Weekly Food Packs: Comstock Public Schools is pleased to announce that we partner with Loaves and Fishes to provide weekly nutritious food packs for families in need. This program will provide a food pack for the entire year. The food pack will have snacks at no charge and is usually enough for one child. If you would like your child/children who attend the Comstock STEM Academy to receive a food pack, please fill out this form and return as soon as possible. Physical copies went home with students. If for some reason it didn't make it home and you need a physical copy, please contact your child's advisory teacher.
We still have a limited number of 25-26 yearbooks if anyone didn't get one last year and would still like one they are $15 in the main office.
Here are the Comstock Public Schools 2026-27 bus routes. Download the file, identify your child's bus stop, and get ready for school!
If you DO NOT see your child's stop on our schedule, please reach out to the Transportation Department.
If a student becomes sick during the day, they must not use group transportation to return home.
Comstock students are expected to conduct themselves in a proper manner both at the bus stop and on the bus itself. Your child's bus driver will share transportation rules and regulations with your child.
Who doesn't love good news? If you have had a positive experience with a staff member this week, please take a moment and let me know. I send personal emails to staff members who receive a shoutout from a parent, and it really brightens their day to know they are making a difference. Click here to fill out the form, which only takes one minute.
Here's the latest edition of Comstock Celebrations. This is a weekly publication of good news from around the Comstock district.
