7th Grade Math Accelerated and Introduction to Computer Science
Objective: The goal of this course is to develop skills to support mathematical understanding through the Common Core standards-based curriculum.
Course Content: This course is designed to cover the 7th grade common core math standards of California, as well as ½ of the 8th grade common core math standards for California. These are the domains covered in this class:
Rational Numbers and Exponents
Proportional and Linear Relationships
Introduction to Statistics and Probability
Creating, Comparing, and Analyzing Geometric Figures
Transformational Geometry
Introduction to Computer Science
About Me
I started as a computer science major at Clovis Center before I decided to be a math teacher and transferred to Fresno Pacific. I earned my BA in Mathematics with an emphasis on Secondary Education and received my Single Subject Math Credential from FPU as well. I chose to teach Mathematics because I struggled with math as a student and felt I could empathize with students who struggle. Although a lot of people struggle with math when they learn it, I love to teach students the joy in applying math once they understand it.
I am also a firm believer in 'paying it forward' and helping to use my abilities in any way I can to help my students, so I am involved in multiple site and district level committees to improve education for our students.
