Resources, Online Platforms, and Websites:
In Core, we use Microsoft Teams as our platform for class meeting as well as assignments, communications, sharing resources, etc. All homework given to students in Core will be done through the Assignments tab on Teams for clarity and consistency. Deadlines and instructions are attached to every assignment.
In addition to Teams, we also utilize educational websites and resources to enhance the learning experience for our students. These include Nearpod, Quizziz, Quizlet, TedEd, BrainPop, edpuzzle, and GALE, which is an online research database provided by Fresno Unified. Each of these commonly-used resources is linked below, as well as on the "Links" page of our Core website.

(This is a sample template you can utilize or create your own, but needs to be easily accessible to parents and students. If you teach different classes, you will need one for each class that you teach. I recommend that you leave the old weeks on this document and continue to add the new weeks above them, so students and parents can scroll down and view the old agendas as well.)

Class Description
At Computech, we believe that teaching English and history hand-in-hand augments and expands learning in both subjects and gives students meaningful opportunities for building synthesis and connections between this content and the world around them. Students are in their Core classes for two back-to-back periods per day to allow time to explore both subjects and their standards.
English Language Arts
For seventh grade ELA, our curriculum centers on the year-long theme of choices. During each unit, (which will take approximately one quarter of the year,) you will be completing two major assignments as well as a number of smaller-scale assignments, projects, and activities. These will include both individual and collaborative assignments, and will incorporate reading, writing, grammar, oral presentation, performance, and other creative tasks.
World History
In seventh grade World History, we will be diving into the foundations of world history, specifically focusing on the Medieval and Early Modern eras. Some of the topics we will cover include comparing world religions, exploring the rise and fall of empires, digging into critical movements like the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment, the Age of Exploration, and examining the history of peoples and cultures in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.
We’ll be exploring the big-picture ideas of how humans became more interconnected globally during this period with a specific focus on the rise and fall of empires, the diffusion of languages and religions, and the movement of peoples, products, and ideas throughout the world. We will be taking an active, hands-on approach to history that includes simulations, debates, reenactments, and projects that enable you to explore issues that matter to you and present your ideas to your peers.
