Annual Report 2021-2022
Annual Report 2021-2022
What an honor and privilege it is to join Compass at such an exciting time! Over the past year alone, we celebrated our 20th anniversary, launched a fourth location (Minneapolis-St. Paul), and embraced opportunities created by the new hybrid work environment to better equip even more local business professionals to meaningfully engage with even more local nonprofits.
As a former Compass nonprofit client – of both our pro bono consulting program and the Sorkin Center – I was already familiar with Compass’ services when I joined the team. However, even in my short time on the inside at Compass, I’ve been blown away by the care and intentionality that the small but mighty Compass team pours into every part of our programming – from the countless hours spent helping nonprofits to scope their business challenges into actionable consulting projects, to the careful vetting and training of volunteers, to the meticulous curation of nonprofit and volunteer matches, to the active, ongoing support of both our nonprofits and volunteers through the entire course of a project, to the customization of our nonprofit excellence trainings. I’ve discovered that Compass is far more than a matchmaker or educator; our secret sauce is curating lasting cross-sector relationships that benefit and empower not only individual nonprofits and individual volunteers, but entire communities.
As I look ahead to Compass’ future, I’m excited to build on our first two decades to deepen our impact within communities while expanding access to Compass’ programming to many more people and organizations. I invite you to join us on this journey.
