Why Online Counseling &
Telemental Health?
Telehealth, also known as telepsychology, telemental health, telebehavioral health, virtual visit, or telemedicine, is video conferencing for our appointments. It's a great option / alternative to in-person, in-office visits, and it became even more widely used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Research has shown that telebehavioral health can be very effective and lowers barriers for many to be able to obtain help. Sessions are held over a HIPAA compliant version of Zoom and includes use of digital activities, books, games, art, etc. that can be tailored to match your child's interests and developmental level. A personalized electronic "therapy office" will be created for your child to keep track of their activities, work and progress made in each session. Laptops and computers provide the best options for digital activities and should be used when possible. Links to activities will be provided as appropriate for your use outside of our therapy appointment time. Guidelines to optimize telehealth experience will be provided to help achieve the best possible service.
