All clients will be met/served by appointment only
We are currently offering:
Virtual clinic by Phone call
In-Person (only tax payer and if required support person will be admitted to an appointment)
All Provincial and Federal health and safety protocols will be followed and must be maintained by all clients
WONDERING IF YOU'RE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SERVICE?
Those eligible have:
Family Size Total Family Income
1(single) 0 - $35,000
2 persons $35,000 - $45,000
each additional dependent +$2,500 (each)
Interest Income <(less than) $1,000
Those not eligible:
Report an income above thresholds mentioned above
Report business or rental income and expenses
*unless business income is reported on box 48 of T4 with < (less than) $1,000 income and no related expenses.
Report capital gains or losses
Filed for bankruptcy
Completing a return for a deceased person
HOW DO I SETUP AN APPOINTMENT?

*Please make sure to include your name and contact information and brief information of your tax situation.
At the time of your appointment you will receive a call from one of our volunteers who will identify themselves as "a volunteer from the Compass Tax Clinic".
Our volunteer will ask for identification using the autofill function provided by the CRA. With your permission the volunteer will become your representative with the CRA providing access to your tax information only. If this is not possible the volunteer could request a brief video call to physically see your identification.
Your tax return will be completed over the phone call.
You completed tax return will be emailed to you and upon your acceptance, will be e-filed on your behalf.
*Please have all your tax receipts and information ready and with you at the time of the appointment as well as a piece of identification.
Please follow these requests and requirements:
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before the time of your appointment.
When you arrive, please ring the doorbell and wait for one of our greeters to meet you at the door.
Only the tax payer(s) and if necessary a support person will be admitted to the appointment (no one else).
Masks or face coverings will be required by all clients
*Please note that In-person Clinics will operate as long as permitted by the LMHU, should this change you will be notified and your appointment will be moved to our virtual clinic format.
