MY COMMITMENT
As your school counselor, I am committed to ensuring that all students acquire the educational, occupational, and social competencies that will strengthen their individual capabilities. My goal is to support both students and families navigate high school and prepare students for college and career success by providing support in three major areas: personal/social development, academic, and career/post-secondary readiness.
Meet your Counselor: KATIRIA RIVERA, M.A., LPC-C
My name is Katiria Rivera and I'm on my fourteenth year in Education and my second year as a school counselor. I'm originally from Jersey City, NJ, of Puerto Rican descent. I received my B.A. in Education and Spanish from New Jersey City University in 2008. My first year in education was teaching ESL abroad, in South Korea, followed by Spain, where I met my husband and started a family. I moved to Colorado in 2017 and decided to pursue my goal of becoming a school counselor. In 2022 I obtained a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver. I am proud to call Colorado my home and in my free time I enjoy gardening, taking long walks with my family and pets, cooking, and listening to music.

Please make appointments during your off hours or lunch. This tool is great for questions you may have regarding classes, future planning, etc. If you need more than 15 minutes, you can make multiple back to back appointments. There are features for a phone call, in person meeting or Google Meet.
If you are having an emergency and need to see me immediately - please come to the counseling office! Our secretary, Ms. Vail, will be able to assist you to see myself or another counselor.
