Father to 8th grader, Hudson Eames, Coach Eames has been a part of the CRA family since preschool and is proud to contribute to the boys' development in basketball.  

Coach Eames played basketball through college at the University of Hartford (a long, LONG time ago, in a galaxy very far away), and has loved coaching the boys' team the last 2 years.  He is dedicated to teaching the boys sportsmanship, strives to put them in a position to find and experience success, and grow together as a team. When he is not coaching he works in technology, and is a serial hobbyist (my son’s words), in addition to having the best job as a dad.  I look forward to coaching your boys this year.

Hi! I am Coach Hood, and I am thrilled to be joining Roots Athletics as the Assistant Basketball Coach. 

Coaching has taught me so much about building relationships, supporting kids through challenges, and creating a space where they feel valued and capable. Watching these students grow in confidence and resilience - both on the court and in how they support each other - has reinforced exactly why I want to work in education. The trust they place in me and the way they show up for each other, even through losses and frustration, reminds me that the most important work happens in those everyday moments of connection and growth. 

When I am not on the court, you can find me roaming the halls of Middle School, helping the SpEd and counseling department.

Coach Gordon joins the Roots Athletics coaching staff this year, having previously played and coached water polo, soccer, rugby, and flag football. His experience across multiple sports disciplines is a valuable asset as the teams prepare for the season. 

In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Gordon works within the Middle School as a staff member in the Special Education Department, where he supports all students across various academic and extracurricular aspects of the school environment. 

He is enthusiastic about getting the season underway and building a successful year with our student-athletes.
