Barriers to Success

3 main issues appear to be barriers to success for many CPS students:

1. Past trauma that interferes with focusing on the present and future

2. Academic deficiencies that have led to a general lack of confidence in themselves and their ability to learn

3. Culture and Discipline: lack of established habits of success, communication, conflict resolution, etc.
