Hi, I'm Ms. Artz! I was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended McCall Elementary and Masterman for middle and high school. For college, I attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA where I majored in Sociology. I worked as a Pre-K Assistant Teacher at Belmont Academy Charter School before attending graduate school at Temple where I earned a Masters of Social Work degree. Since getting my MSW, I have worked in a variety of fields, including homelessness (at Project HOME), adolescent mental health, and Oncology. Prior to CPS, I worked at CHOP for 7+ years as a Pediatric Oncology Social Worker and also at St. Chris covering overnights to provide trauma and bereavement support. After giving birth to my daughter, Ruby, in 2021, I decided to make a shift to have more time with my family. This is my 5th year at CPS and I am so proud to be a part of this community; it is such a pleasure to watch your children grow up!
As the School Counselor at CPS, I help to facilitate the Open Circle social-emotional learning (SEL) and Comprehensive Sexuality Education curricula. As a member of our Support Services team, I consult with families and teachers regarding academic, behavioral, and social/emotional concerns. I can also provide information on community resources for families and referrals for long-term counseling and support.
I can be reached by email at z.artz@cpsphilly.org or phone at 215-235-0461 x.187. If you would like to set up a time to talk by phone or Zoom, please use my Calendly link. I look forward to working with you and your child(ren)!
