The Ability Leadership Program of North Carolina (ALP-NC) is an innovative peer-led initiative designed to empower advocates within the disability rights community. ALP-NC is committed to crafting accessible, inclusive skill-building spaces for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), their family members, guardians, professionals, and other stakeholders who are committed to systemic change.

Key Differentiators:
People with lived experience consult on curriculum development to ensure the voice of people with disabilities is centered in the content.
Our staff and facilitators are people with lived experience who receive a competitive wage as instructors, group leaders, and consultants.
Universal Design for Learning Guidelines have been applied to material development and learning activities.
The ALP model was designed to be accessible and affordable to promote inclusivity, diversity, and equity.
