Advocacy
ALP focuses on advocacy education primarily through the crafting and sharing of personal stories. Leaders graduate from our program with the capacity to share an impactful and succinct narrative about a personal disability justice issue.

"If there's something you're needing to advocate for, whether it be for better mental health, physical health, or what have you, I think [ALP-NC] gives greater courage to advocate for your own self and your own needs."
- ALP-NC Leader
Story Sharing – In ALP, stories help people understand and care about problems. We believe that by sharing our lived experience, we can address disability justice issues and make a difference.
Leaders use the StorySharing toolkit to develop their own personal narratives and then practice with their small-group Learning Teams. Each participant has the opportunity to share their final version with their cohort in the format of their choosing. Leaders graduate with a polished story crafted for impact.
