Scientific Program

The school will be focused on “Smart materials for and from electrochemistry”. Hence, the school will allow the students to familiarize with both (i) the materials that are used for many relevant electrochemical applications and with (ii) materials that are prepared and/or characterized with the help of electrochemical tools.

Some of the topics studied during the school are:

• Electrocatalysis in water and in aprotic solvents
• Materials for (i) fuel cells, (ii) batteries, (iii) modern sensors, (iv) photoelectrochemical devices and (v) next-generation smart integrated electronics
• Fundamentals of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy, X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy, Electrodeposition, Anodization Science and Technology

The instructors of the school will be A. Hagfeldt, M. Koper, A. Russell, V. Vivier, F. Brunetti, S. Brutti, V. Di Noto, L. Falciola, F. La Mantia, M. Musiani, P. Mussini, F. Paolucci and M. Santamaria.

The school will start on Sunday 19^th May at 17:00 with an introduction by Prof. F. Paolucci and with a talk on ERC programs by Prof. F. La Mantia and it will finish Thursday 23^rd May at about 13:00.
