Submission deadline: 15 June 2025Â
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging modality that provides high-resolution, cross-sectional views of biological tissues, widely used for diagnosing retinal disorders. Cyst segmentation in OCT images plays a pivotal role in the clinical management of conditions such as diabetic macular edema and age-related macular degeneration. However, the challenges posed by the variability in cyst morphology and image quality demand innovative solutions.
The OCT-Cyst Challenge aims to foster innovation by encouraging researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals to develop robust, accurate, and efficient segmentation algorithms for identifying and delineating cysts in OCT images.
This competition targets the segmentation of cysts in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images. The goal is to improve the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of ocular diseases through more precise segmentation algorithms.
Improved Disease Diagnosis and Prognosis: Precisely outlining cyst boundaries allows clinicians to evaluate the severity and progression of ocular conditions.
Enhanced Treatment Planning: Robust segmentation data can inform clinical decisions, such as selecting the optimal surgical approach or tailoring pharmacological interventions.
Quantitative Analysis for Disease Monitoring: Segmentation enables detailed quantitative analysis of cyst characteristics (size, volume, growth rate), invaluable for tracking disease progression and evaluating therapeutic efficacy.
