Challenges and Barriers
Per CDC US County Opioid Dispensing Rates 2020 (per 100 persons), access is a challenge to residents of Josephine County. Opioids in Josephine County are dispensed at a rate of 47.020, but neighboring counties Curry County and Jackson County have dispensed rates of 83.222 and 82.755 respectfully. Statistically, both Curry and Jackson County data could impact Josephine County residents.
Compared to Oregon as a whole and the United States, residents in Josephine County experience higher rates of substance use disorder (SUD).
